LAP BY LAP Versus FINAL RESULTS Disclaimer - Racers: for a zillion reason such as dnf's, track rerouting, cheaters, lost riders, barcode scan failure, and many more, the NCHSA Score Keeper's must alter lap times in order to get the Final Results correct. If your Final Results are correct, do not contact the NCHSA claiming you were in 3rd place on lap 4, and the computer says you were 7th. It simply does not matter. It is your responsibility to make sure your results were correct at the end of each race day before you leave. Should you still beleive there is an error that must be corrected, you must cotact an NCHSA board member. Click Here To Jump To The Contact Us Page, or simply see an official at the next race.

Round 13: Daniel's Ridge II - Taylorsville, NC

Price: FREE

The SENIOR-B class had sixteen riders going at it for six laps during the one and a half hour afternoon B & C race. Lap one saw Bret Akers take control of the race, leading Todd Miller by four seconds. Greg Smith came through in third place, five seconds ahead of fourth place rider Joe Johnston. John Giles rounded out the top five. Completion of lap two had Bret Akers on the gas hard, pulling away, and increasing the lead to seventeen seconds over Todd Miller. Joe Johnston moved into third place, and lead forth place rider Greg Smith by two seconds. John Giles still chased in fifth place by seventeen seconds. Lap three had second place rider Joe Johnston closing the gap on Bret Akers to twelve seconds. Greg Smith rocketed into third place, keeping forth place rider Todd Miller at bay by six seconds. John Giles stayed put in fifth place by five seconds. On lap four Joe Johnston grabbed the lead, and gapped twenty nine seconds over John Giles. Bret Akers slowed to third place, now having to protect the position from fourth place racer Greg Smith. Todd Miller feel off the pace to fifth place by three seconds. Lap five ended with Joe Johnston picking up the pace, increasing the lead to thirty three seconds over John Giles. Todd Miller slipped into third place, leading forth place racer Mickey Thomas by seven seconds. Problems seemed apparent when Greg Smith dropped to fifth place by two seconds. Six laps in and second place rider John Giles is staying strong, riding great, and flat out catching race leader Joe Johnston, who now holds a gap of seventeen seconds. Mickey Thomas is on the gas, now running strong in third place, eight seconds ahead of Todd Miller. Greg Smith continues to block the entrance door to fifth place. In the end it was a great race with two different leaders, but it was Joe Johnston taking the win, proving to be a just a little stronger, than John Giles, Mickey Thomas, Todd Miller, and Greg Smith.
